HOW DO I START USING MY AASANA MAT?

Start simply, by placing your mat on your bed or couch, and lying on the mat for about 15 minutes. As you start to feel more comfortable, you can slowly increase your sessions to about 30-40 minutes. 
The pressure may be intense for about 2 minutes or so, when first using your mat. After about 2 minutes, your nervous system gets used to the stimulus and you begin to experience an overall feeling of peace and calmness. After using your mat a few times, the sensation is actually quite pleasant. Avoid heavy movements while using the mat, as spikes may scratch your skin. 

SHOULD I WEAR A SHIRT WHILE USING THE MAT?

It's perfectly alright to wear a t-shirt or even place a thin towel, when you first start, as this reduces the intensity of the initial sensation. Once you get accustomed to the spikes and feel comfortable, then you can go ahead and use it on your bare skin for a more effective acupressure therapy.

HOW LONG SHOULD I USE IT FOR?

We recommend anything from a few minutes up to an hour, depending on your comfortability and convenience. If you're a newbie, 5-10 minutes at a time is a great start. For best  results, the ideal session length is 3-45 minutes.

CAN AASANAMAT HURT MY SKIN?

When used correctly, the AasanaMat will not pierce or hurt your skin.  Always gently and carefully lie on the acupressure mat for an even distribution of pressure.  Do not move around or drag it across your skin because that could result in injury.  Always gently lie on the acupressure mat.

CAN I USE AASANAMAT IF I'M OVERWEIGHT?

Yes you can!  In fact it is highly recommended! Regular use of a AasanaMat helps promote general well being. 

HOW DO I CLEAN MY AASANA MAT?

Aasanamat is very easy to clean. Simply, remove the foam pad, hand wash the cover in lukewarm water and hang to dry. Avoid using a washing machine or dryer as this may damage the acupressure points.
